Engineering with Julia
We are pleased to invite engineering researchers, industry professionals, and educators to submit their latest work to the “Engineering with Julia” minisymposium, which will be held as part of JuliaCon 2025 - the main annual conference dedicated to the Julia programming language.
The conference will be held in Pittsburgh, PA.
The conference will take place from July 21–26, 2025.
SUBMISSIONS
This minisymposium focuses on advancing engineering through computational tools developed in the Julia programming language, fostering innovation and collaboration across diverse engineering disciplines, both industrial and academic. We welcome submissions from a wide range of engineering fields, including but not limited to:
- Civil Engineering (e.g., modeling and analysis of structural systems, system and structural reliability analysis)
- Mechanical Engineering (e.g., topology optimization of Formula 1 drivetrains)
- Electrical Engineering (e.g., modeling of power systems and energy distribution networks)
- Aerospace Engineering (e.g., modeling of jet propulsion engines)
- Environmental Engineering (e.g., global climate modeling)
We strongly encourage interdisciplinary and collaborative submissions that address contemporary engineering challenges. Contributions showcasing innovative applications of Julia in engineering are particularly valued.
The submission deadline is January 31, 2025.
PRESENTATION FORMATS
Two types of presentation format are available:
- Lightning talks: 10 minutes (including 2 minutes for Q&A).
- Standard talks: 30 minutes (including 5 minutes for Q&A).
Presentations must be delivered either in person or as recorded talks.
WHERE AND HOW TO SUBMIT?
Submissions are managed through the PreTalx platform. Create an account and submit your talk by providing:
- Talk title: A concise and descriptive title.
- Abstract: A self-contained summary of the talk (maximum 500 characters).
- Description: Detailed information about the talk, such as its structure, background, and any additional context.
Make sure to select the “Engineering with Julia” minisymposium as the track for your talk. For more details on submission requirements, visit: JuliaCon 2025 :: pretalx.
