1.0 is right around the corner! Meet the new local organizer and discuss potential topics for future sessions, and strategies for getting Julia into your lab following the big milestone release.

Hope to see folks there!

Hi there
just looking at Julia for a new application. A Chicago resident and happy to meet for breakfast in Ceres or lunch somewhere on LaSalle.

Hi @anon97116444 — welcome!

It’s been quite some time since we’ve done a Chicago meetup — as you can see we’re long overdue! We’ll be putting something together in the near future… stay posted!

I’m also always happy to meet up with folks more casually… I work from home and coffee shops on the north side but would enjoy a field trip to the loop for breakfast or lunch some day.

Hey Matt

how about next week for a breakfast in Ceres, my treat. I am

considering starting a new enterprise with some chums and looking
at Julia to form the core architecture IF it passes muster. We’re
the end result of years of coaching from Dr Jim Gray so a little
picky when it comes to what we hang our code off, we aren’t
remotely convinced by the Google guys briefings on GO and we want
to try a new language hence Julia. Let me know if you can meet
for brekker in Ceres and we can see what happens next.

One thing that may be of interest, I own a building in Pilsen and

am considering converting the basement ( 60’ by 20’) into a maker
space. I would appreciate your views on that. I have NO time for
any of the Chicago shared spaces and believe a more silicon valley
approach is more suited to the way we work.

Looking forwards to meeting you
