A lot of what I do around the Julia community involves incorporating multiple languages. Whether that involves packages for language interop like JavaCall.jl or just making wrappers for libraries in other languages such as HDF5.jl, this art requires knowledge of more than one language. As a Software Engineer in a research environment, I find myself in operating at the interface between languages often.
If this sounds familiar, considering attending my “Polyglot Software Development” Birds of Feather session at the first meeting of the United States Software Engineer Association in Chicago from October 16th to 18th. While this is not strictly a Julia event, I hope to meet other Julia users there. Moreover, I would like to build working relationships with other people trying to build software between languages.
