Hi all,
I recently started updating an old package of mine to work with Julia 1.0 and the new system with Github CI
and TagBot, etc and I’m having trouble getting the CI to run and deploy docs for the “stable” version when TagBot tags.
Here’s my CI workflow
name: CI
on:
push:
branches:
- master
tags:
- 'v*'
pull_request:
branches:
- master
schedule:
- cron: "0 0 1 * *"
jobs:
test:
name: Julia ${{ matrix.version }} - ${{ matrix.os }} - ${{ matrix.arch }} - ${{ github.event_name }}
runs-on: ${{ matrix.os }}
strategy:
fail-fast: false
matrix:
version:
- '1.6'
- '1'
os:
- ubuntu-latest
- macOS-latest
- windows-latest
arch:
- x64
steps:
- uses: actions/checkout@v2
- uses: julia-actions/setup-julia@v1
with:
version: ${{ matrix.version }}
arch: ${{ matrix.arch }}
- uses: actions/cache@v1
env:
cache-name: cache-artifacts
with:
path: ~/.julia/artifacts

Pkg.instantiate()'
- run: julia --project=docs docs/make.jl
env:
GITHUB_TOKEN: ${{ secrets.GITHUB_TOKEN }}
DOCUMENTER_KEY: ${{ secrets.DOCUMENTER_KEY }}
and my TagBot.yml
name: TagBot
on:
issue_comment:
types:
- created
workflow_dispatch:
jobs:
TagBot:
if: github.event_name == 'workflow_dispatch' || github.actor == 'JuliaTagBot'
runs-on: ubuntu-latest
steps:
- uses: JuliaRegistries/TagBot@v1
with:
token: ${{ secrets.GITHUB_TOKEN }}
ssh: ${{ secrets.DOCUMENTER_KEY }}
EDIT: TagBot is tagging and updating the repo successfully so I’m not sure why the CI isn’t being triggered.
From all my searching it appears that the standard case doesn’t apply to me: I have the ssh: ${{ secrets.DOCUMENTER_KEY }}
added to my TagBot.yml
which appears to be the main reason that this happens according to the Documenter.jl docs.
I basically copied the two configs from my other packages where they work just fine.
Anyone have other ideas for why TagBot is not triggering the CI to run?
