We have an open PhD position at the Computer Systems lab of Ghent University (Belgium) for research into Julia’s GPU back-end as developed at our lab.
Our funding covers a 4-year PhD program in the context of a research grant. The grant allows for quite some academic freedom, but we’re mainly interested in (a) the interfaces between the Julia compiler and its external back-ends, and (b) how a high-level language can be used to facilitate accelerator programming. Either way, work “across the stack” is expected, so candidates are required to have experience with Julia, GPUs (programming & architecture), and compilers.
