Package naming question

We want to register a new Julia package, but we failed to register it with the AutoMerge because of the Damerau-Levenshtein distance. The two packages are very different and the two names do not sound confusing at all, that is why we are waiting for someone to merge it manually. We see packages that also have Damerau-Levenshtein distance of less than 3 in the registry. So I guess that it is possible. Did anyone have a similar problem and how long did it take to be resolved?

This happens fairly frequently. What needs to happen is for some to do step (3) here: https://github.com/JuliaRegistries/General/blob/master/CONTRIBUTING.md.

Thank you for your link. We actually wrote comments explaining why we think it would be fine to keep our package name. Here is the link to the PR #74844.
