It seems that Code and the extension work fine with Julia 1.8.0, but the extension crashes before it loads with nightly Julia. Are the extension devs interested in bug reports for nightly Julia?
The best place to report these is probably their GitHub Issue Tracker. It looks like users occasionally post issues with the nightly builds here to make them visible to developers.
