Mini-Symposium on Julia in Astronomy & Astrophysics Research

JuliaCon 2022 has accepted a proposal for a mini-symposium (2-3 hours) on Julia in Astronomy & Astrophysics Research, shortly before the main JuliaCon talks. Please complete this form if you would be interested in contributing (e.g., a short talk sharing how Julia has enhanced your science and the challenges you encountered; serving on a panel to discuss what contributions could significantly accelerate the adoption of Julia among the astronomical research community).

Great to see! I work in radio astronomy and see a little Julia in imaging and simulation work. Python otherwise still dominates however.

Looking forward to this.

Please let me know if you’d be interested in a similar Mini-Symposium at JuliaCon 2025.
Any opinions on whether we have grown enough that we should specialize (e.g., Julia for Cosmology, Julia for Exoplanets, Julia for Sky Surveys)? Or should we still keep it fairly broad?

Our proposal was selected. Please consider submitting proposals for a talk (or lightning talk) at Julia in Astronomy & Astrophysics Research Mini-Symposium 2025 organized in coordination with JuliaCon 2025 to be held during July 21-26, 2025 in Pittsburgh, PA, USA. The abstract deadline is January 31, 2025.

Please help us raise awareness among your Julia-using Astro-loving colleagues.
