JuliaSphere Workshop

xKDR Forum is a research think thank based in Mumbai. We have built several packages including: TSFrames.jl, Survey.jl, and CRRao.jl. We use these packages for our research work, as well as other Julia packages, such a Rasters.jl.

We’ve been actively building a community in India by organising meetups. And we’ve partnered with educational institutions, mentoring numerous students.

With help from Afrost and CMI, we are trying to scale our community building effort in India. Through the JuliaSphere workshops, we aim to grow the Julia community here and also find people who could help us with the statistics effort. The first JuliaSphere event is happening in New Delhi, next month. We’ll soon take the event to other cities.

Please help us spread the word by sharing our announcements on LinkedIn or Twitter

We’re seeking sponsors to help fund our community initiatives and keep workshops accessible. If you or your organization can contribute, please reach out to us.

This is our first such workshop, any suggestions or feedback will help us improve the workshop in the future.

Hi @ayushpatnaikgit , thanks for leading this initiative in India. Could you please elaborate on the sentence above? Do you need someone with statistical background to help with specific content?

Hi, we are seeking people, typically students, who will pick up issues and do PRs to the packages we’re building.
