Hello! I installed Julia 1.2.0 on Windows 10, but when I type :turtle: , the turtle is not displayed, why?

You have to install the DejaVu Sans Mono font, and configure the console to use that font.

Done, but it doesn’t work

Oh, well… :person_shrugging:

It sounds like FiraCode might work, according to this post: Julia REPL and Emojis - #4 by HBaghdadi1995

It doesn’t work :anguished:

I think the Fira Code and Deja Vu Sans Mono fonts don’t contain emojis anyway. On Windows, the font you want to be installed is probably the Segoe UI Color Emoji font. Which I thought should be installed already, but who knows. Presumably Windows does font substitution… (I’ve not used Windows much… :))

No, it doesn’t: UTF8 support in Juno console workaround? - #4 by stevengj

The new Windows terminal implementation should support font substitution, but doesn’t work with Julia IIRC.

blimey :frowning:

The Hack open source font (Hack | A typeface designed for source code) worked for me.
