How to save editor/pane layout in VSCode

How to get a consistent feel for the VSCode environment like RStudio?
i.e whenever REPL is called, it will only pop up as a bottom pane. and When plot pane is called it will always pop up in the top right corner. Help window in the bottom corner, like that?

You can’t save the location of the plot pane, that is something we have on the roadmap.

I think the location of the other things should be remembered by VS Code, but I’m not 100% positive.
