Hacktoberfest 2020 x The Julia Language

Hey all,

Hacktoberfest 2020 is right around the corner. If you are a project maintainer/contributor, it would be awesome to tag a few beginner issues with the “hacktoberfest” tag on GitHub so we can attract some new folks to your projects and the greater Julia Ecosystem. Check out the guide on tagging issues here and feel free to ping me if I can help at all.

We are at 79 hacktoberfest tagged issues right now and it would be great to get at least a few hundred more. Thanks!

What kinds of issues are ideal? I see you said beginner issues. Should they be beginner in the Julia user sense and also beginner in the domain they are contributing too?

I have lots of stuff I could tag, but it would be fun to do some PRs for other people.

Also should we not start until the event begins?

I think the issues could be either beginner in the Julia sense or beginner in the actual domain. I would suggest starting to tag now so you have issues in place for when October rolls around.

You need to be signed into GitHub to search issues like that.
