[GSoC 2026] Inquiry: Active Mentorship for ClimaExplorer or CliMA Visualizers

Hi Julia Community,

I am Aman, a 3rd-year CS student at Thapar University. I am deeply interested in the ClimaExplorer project for GSoC 2026.

I recently reached out to Gabriele Bozzola, but he mentioned he is no longer mentoring for CliMA this year. I’d like to ask the JSoC admins if there is an alternate mentor assigned to this project.

My Background:

  • Research: I’ve worked on Physics-Informed Neural Networks (PINNs) using Python/TensorFlow, so I understand the math/physics behind the models.
  • Dev: Strong MERN stack background; currently finishing a React Native Expo app for Play Store release.
    Julia Activity: I am working on some issues and have sent 1 PR which is about to be accepted with changes.

I’m ready to start on a trial task or research missing features. Looking forward to guidance from the admins (@TheCedarPrince or others)!

At this time, I do not know of any other alternate mentors for that project. I would encourage perhaps asking within the #jsoc or #climate channels at the Julia Slack by linking this discourse post with very brief context to not be too spammy.
