Fully-remote health informatics developer analyst ($84k-$107k)

The Tufts Clinical and Translational Science Institute is hiring a developer analyst for their Health Informatics team. Our role at TuftsMedicine is essentially to deliver focused datasets to clinicians based on their research projects.

Almost all our work requirements are done in Julia, which makes up the majority of our tech stack. Our source data is stored in SQL tables, but we interact with these primarily through FunSQL.jl queries. So, while our typical problem-solving approach is through relational database operations, everything is in Julia, and we can make full use of its features, from generating the queries to visualizing the results. Most of the development is done in Pluto.jl notebooks, which we deliver to the clinician. Other languages might be used incidentally; much of our infrastructure is in Python, and I’ve used R or SQL for interoperability in some projects.

The job posting is linked below. The description includes some standardized language, but the “Preferred Qualifications” section under the Job Description was written specifically for this role and gives a detailed overview on what experience would be the most valuable for our team.
Expertise with Epic systems and their data models would make an application stand out, as would previous work with natural language processing in a biomedical context. Communication skills are valued for clinician interactions and for drafting professional project quotes.

The location is listed as Tufts Medical Center, but our team is fully remote. I believe an office space in Boston would be available, if desired. If there is any question at all, be sure to ask to ask the hiring manager.
