The Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory (PPPL) is hiring a post-doc to join the M3D-C1 team and lead the development of new stellarator modeling capabilities in M3D-C1. The initial focus will be on implementing a model for bootstrap current. More broadly, the position will help build up the software ecosystem including Julia packages that will enable high-fidelity, multi-physics, whole-of-device modeling in stellarators, see the job posting for more details:

The desired candidate is someone with a strong HPC/computational physics background that wants to be embedded in the application domain. To that end, as noted in the job description: PhD in physics, applied mathematics, computer science or a related discipline, with an emphasis on numerical modeling of continuous media, e.g., computational plasma physics or fluid dynamics are strongly encouraged to apply.
Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until a suitable candidate is found.
