Scientist in Computational Hydrodynamics

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Integrated Modeling Group at the University of Rochester Laboratory for Laser Energetics Theoretical Division seeks a Computational Physicist (Assistant Scientist to Scientist position) to support the development and optimization of state-of-the-art multi-physics hydrodynamics codes relevant to Inertial Confinement Fusion.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The successful candidate will focus on code optimization through improved algorithms and parallelization, including adaptation of codes to GPUs.
  • The candidate will also develop new or augmented physics packages.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Candidates should have a PhD in Physics, Astrophysics, Computational Physics or a related field.
