RemoteFiles.jl User Survey

Hi folks,

I am planning to overhaul my RemoteFiles.jl package. If you are currently using the package, I would like to know which backends you are using. I am uncertain whether the different backends are still needed or could be fully replaced by Downloads.jl.

If you have any other feedback or feature requests, fire away :sunglasses:

My plan is to include the following new features:

  • Downloads.jl support
  • Scratch.jl support
  • Mirror URLs

Which RemoteFiles.jl backends are you using?

  • cURL
  • wget
  • HTTP.jl

And another more specific question: Do you have problems with the cURL backend and if yes, what kind of problems?
