I think pretty much most or all of the (introductory) examples at Plotly julia graphing library in Julia are broken at this point in 0.6.2. this is a pity—the outline and docs on their webpage look great.

is there a halfway correct starter’s guide?

are the folks at plot.ly (still) maintaining Plotly for julia, or has Plotly for Julia been de-facto abandoned for now?

Note that there is also PlotlyJS.jl (instead of Plotly.jl) that is well maintained.

One of the advantages of PlotlyJS.jl is that all the examples from the Plotly javascript library also work in Julia with slight modifications.
