Does anyone have any experience (positive or negative) of running julia on the oracle cloud free tier (4 arm cores / 24GB ram). The generous memory allocation would obviously be helpful for Julia.
Are you sure? 24 GB RAM? That is an unusual configuration…
- 4 Arm-based Ampere A1 cores and 24 GB of memory usable as one VM or up to 4 VMs

I’ve used it to test some ARM things with no issue. It should all just work though I think you can ask for the OS to be Ubuntu. Which is probably better tested.
I like the usability of AWS and Google Cloud more, but the free tier machine from Oracle is on a completely other level than what Google (or AWS) is offering.
It is really great to get such a powerful machine for free. I just looked into it, it is up for 230 days, executing a small julia web application and a julia data pipeline.
You also get a public IP for your machine for free, however I’m not sure if it is static, maybe it can change on reboot.
