Make previous plot from navigator the current plot

I apologize if that’s a bit of a silly question.
sometimes I’d like to pick an old plot from the plot navigator and make adjustments to it, like change the legend etc. When just opening that old plot from the plot navigator, it’s not automatically the ‘current’ plot, so I can’t refer to it in the REPL.
Is there a way to do that?

Probably one for @pfitzseb as I don’t know the internals at all but my guess is the answer is “no” - I would assume the plots in the plot pane are just image files (png or something) stored in some temp folder with no connection to the code that created them.
