He said the scientific computing community doesn’t have a culture of building infrastructure and open source and that needs to change. I linked to that part (t=1504).
I’m a total non-expert in these things (so e.g. I don’t know if that claim is true), but just thought it might be relevant to this community. Sorry if I’m wrong.
