Many of the people behind EcoJulia (and Jakob from BioJulia) will be giving a PhD course in Ecology and Evolution with Julia in Copenhagen this October. The course consists of 1 week of in-person teaching in Copenhagen, and a 1-week individual project afterwards, supervised by one of the teachers.
Please spread the good word around - and if you know anyone interested please direct them to sign up, but the deadline for signing up is very soon - mid August!
Thanks for the link! As a theoretical ecology phd student who already does most of his work in Julia, I probably won’t register for an introductory course that’s this costly and far. But I’d be interested in learning about the ecology-themed Julia packages (I’ve never used any of them). Will the course materials be made available online?
Yes my guess is that a lot of the newly produced materials will be used to expand the docs at ecojulia.org . The price is out of our hands, it’s the standard state-defined per-ECTS course of phd courses in Denmark
