As we scale up our products on the cloud at Julia Computing, we wish to hire a Cloud Engineer with expertise on Amazon Web Services to be part of our product development team.
Job duties and responsibilities
- Work as part of our product engineering team to design, build and deploy cloud based applications.
- Participate in all aspects of the software development life cycle for AWS based solutions, including planning, requirements, development, testing, and quality assurance
- Troubleshoot incidents, identify root cause, fix and document problems, and implement preventive measures
- Define, document and implement best practices and strategies regarding application deployment and infrastructure maintenance
- Provide guidance, thought leadership, and mentorship to development teams to build cloud competencies. Train and educate teams on the implementation of new cloud-based initiatives
- Ensure application performance, uptime, and scale, maintaining high standards of code quality and thoughtful design
- Manage cloud environments in accordance with company security guidelines
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- 3+ years of experience architecting, designing, developing, and implementing cloud solutions on AWS platforms
- Experience of programming in a dynamic language - julia, python or similar
- Outstanding communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- AWS certifications
- Experience with managing and administering Linux systems
- Experience with designing, deploying and maintaining solutions on Kubernetes
