Is anyone else's company blocking the AI TLD?

Is anyone else’s company blocking .AI domains?

I use Julia at a top 50 company by revenue for forecasting and the company blocks the .ai TLD as a way to block a majority of the unauthorized AI-driven tools. Recently, I’ve noticed more Julia packages putting their documentation behind .ai domain names, and now, I can’t access them. (A couple of examples: SymbolicRegression: julia.pysr.ai and MLJ: juliaml.ai) The exception process, as you can imagine for a company of this size, can take months and often times is just a black hole.

I’ve seen a few discussions on this, but they’re still relatively limited so I wanted to post here to get another pulse check.

thanks

Locally build the docs from their git repositories, and email the maintainers for the doc sources if they’re not in public repos?

no, that seems like a very stupid thing to do. The domain .ai was used before AI companies even existed. Tell them to change their policy

Tell them to change their policy

At a big corporation?

Yes!

Tell them to register the website under.si

OP: If your employer is unwilling to allow all .ai domains, could you ask them to allowlist the specific .ai domains that you need?

My company has been blocking ai TLD for the past couple of years. Not a top 50 company, but significant size. Glad to know I’m not alone.

Thanks for the replies. Wasn’t looking to solution here  But more just curious what the broader landscape is like. There is a Reddit Thread on this subject and a few other articles/support QAs, etc on this subject but the discussion still seems relatively limited.
