So, it works now. I did not find the solution to the problem but a work around.
Earlier, I was trying to install Julia 1.5.0 which is the latest version released in August, 2020. Now, I installed the LTS version 1.0.5 released in Sept 2019 and it works. There must be some compatibility issues somewhere.
