This has nothing to do with Julia

If you have Julia skills, please apply. Ben Arthur and I both work work at the Janelia Research Campus and use Julia there.

I know that it’s not including in the job post, so the answer is almost certainly no, but I gotta ask – any chance these positions are remote eligible?

The AI Scientist ad does mention Julia.

Typically, the job requires you to establish a local address. That said many of us do work remotely from home for at least some portion of the time. If you think you can commute to campus occasionally, I encourage you to apply. How much time you can work from home is negotiable. While I am typically in the office three or four days a week, I only need to be there one or two days a week.

Local address is quite vague. We are located in Loudoun County, Virginia, which is close to Maryland, West Virginia, and Washington, D.C. In fact, we run a shuttle out to Arlington, Virginia. I know of at least one employee who spends a good portion of their time in North Carolina.

We also have on-site housing if you wanted to rent a studio that could serve as your local address.

There is also a “guest house” which mainly serves as a hotel for conferences on site. It can be made available to employees if they demonstrate a need to work late on an occasional basis.
