Announcing Genie Cloud (Private Beta), the no-code platform to quickly build and deploy Genie apps

Hi everyone!

I’m super happy to announce the private beta release of Genie Cloud, the no-code platform to quickly build and deploy Genie web apps.

With Genie Cloud, anybody can build a Julia web app in just a few simple steps:

1/ Add your Julia code in the code editor
2/ Build the UI using the drag & drop builder
3/ Implement the app logic by connecting UI elements to data in your Julia code
4/ Deploy your web app with one-click

If you have already used Genie Builder, with Genie Cloud we’re taking no-code app building to the next level, with a batteries-included cloud IDE for developing and deploying Genie apps.

What can you expect from the private beta?

Genie Cloud still has some known (and most likely some unknown :smiley:) small bugs, and therefore is not yet recommended for production apps. However, it should help you develop and especially deploy your Genie apps much faster than ever before. :mega:Hey @everyone. I’m excited to announce some major upgrades to Genie Cloud.

1/ We’ve made it easier for Genie Builder users to import their apps for deployment on Genie Cloud. Simply zip and upload your app via an import menu, or clone the code straight from a GitHub repo.

For those with Genie Framework apps - support is on the horizon! Watch this space.

2/ :bulb: We’ve pre-loaded two demo apps in the workspace to help you explore Genie Cloud. You can experiment with them in the development environment:

  • Edit or add UI components using our drag & drop no-code editor

  • Try the Genie UI Assistant (powered by GPT-4!) to edit, add and style components with natural language

  • Deploy on a public URL

3/ :muscle: Genie Cloud is more stable and faster. We’ve upgraded the platform to Julia 1.9 for increased performance and have enhanced our infrastructure for better resilience. Plus, we’ve squashed all major bugs. :no_entry_sign::beetle:

Genie Cloud is still in private beta, but we’re inviting users regularly.
