You missed the important part of Oscar’s message (emphasis mine):
Take a look at the conversation above. You have received only two answers from someone who wasn’t Oscar or myself. Then it’s just you conversing with yourself over five consecutive posts. To me, this shows that 1) given your expertise, you don’t really need “support”, at least not on this topic and 2) the community may not be reacting to your longer-form posts the way you expect it to.
We are not denying that these algorithmic expositions are insightful. However, we are telling you that they are not a good fit for the present forum (unlike the posts where you uncover potential bugs, which are of very high value).
Oscar is the maintainer of JuMP.jl and I’m a moderator of this forum, as well as a researcher in combinatorial optimization. We do know what we are talking about, both in terms of the science and in terms of the relevance to the Julia community.
In the past, we have made the same remarks to you repeatedly: here, here, here, and in the rest of those threads. Several of your (early) topics did not get a single reaction (here, here, here, here), possibly because they read more like notes taken for your own future use than material designed to help others on a forum.
Your use of Discourse would be perfectly okay if forum users and forum moderators had infinite time and tolerance to noise, but such is not the case. Expository posts like these (“this is more a comment than a question”) draw attention and energy away from people who actually need help. Oscar in particular is an exceptional asset to our community, who spends a lot of time on Discourse already. Let’s make it easier for him to help people who need it.
