VSCode can create files for languages from its “Select a language” menu, that you surely all know.

I started a feature suggestion for VSCode, to include Jupyter Notebooks there as well.
Currently, we start them via Ctrl+Shift+P and I think it’s a little bit simpler, to use the aforementioned interface for that.

20 Votes are needed, that they include it in their backlog of features to implement.
