Hi all!
We’re announcing an unofficial Julia users group in Vancouver, BC for people of all skill levels. The idea is to meet about once a month and learn some Julia together! The format will be:
- A half-hour informal presentation from a volunteer. This could be a project you’re working on, an explanation of a feature of the language, a demonstration of a neat package you found, or something else Julia-related.
- An hour of project time. This is time to work on something Julia-related, from starting to learn the language to working on a project. We know there’s a lot of interest in the language but it’s hard to carve out time to learn it or work on something, so this is time we’ll all set aside to do just that with people doing the same thing who you can ask questions.
The first meetup will be November 22nd from 6-8pm at the UBC Robson Square campus (800 Robson Street), room C225. We hope to see you there!
