Could I suggest adding a small note in the guideline detailing why there’s this guideline regarding gen-AI?
I think one who is enthusiastic about modern chatbots might read that guideline and think “ah whoever wrote that is some Luddite who hates the future!”
This post itself provides a somewhat concise reasoning for the rule. So perhaps a small sentance or a link to a footnote saying something like (edited from your post Matt)
This rule is really a subset of two older, more general guidelines: (1) The community standards has long urged all participants to be concise. Generative AI is typically the exact opposite of concise. (2) The guidelines here have always asked folks — people! — to improve the conversation by adding to the conversation and thinking about it.
