I’m currently a PhD student in economics, but I’ve decided to leave my program to work as a data scientist or scientific programmer. Previously I was a research assistant at the Fed. Most of my programming in the last few years has been in Julia, and I have a couple of small Julia packages, PSID.jl and StaticOptim.jl. Although my research has been in economics, I’m happy to make an occupation change and work on any tasks which make use of my quantitative skills, preferably using Julia. My website/blog is https://aaowens.github.io/. I’m located in the US.
