Have you read the debugger threads? There is plenty of interest.
But threads like these require low effort to participate in, while the things you mention are hard, and still lower priority than many other issues.
It’s a bit curmudgeonly to complain about people responding to a fun and easy question, instead of “working hard on big, serious and important tasks.” Especially, when many are in fact also doing that.

Oh, come on! Because some people have a little bit fun and think of what Julia excels at does not mean other things are neglected. Text book example of a false dichotomy.
