Robotics and Julia at the Boston Dynamics AI Institute

I’m excited to announce that The Boston Dynamics AI Institute (theaiinstitute.com/) is looking for skilled and senior (5+ years industry experience) software engineers to join. Our company is at the forefront of the robotics industry, developing and building advanced systems that revolutionize the way we live and work.

As a software engineer, you will work on a variety of projects, including in close collaboration with hardware engineers and researchers. You will be responsible for developing and implementing cutting-edge software solutions for robotic systems.

In particular, we are considering expanding the use of Julia in robotics, which has C++/Python as its mainstay. We are hoping to build a critical mass of people with experience in Julia, with an eye toward improving the development and deployment experience of robotics software, which in addition to being numerically heavy, must be interactive/reactive, must leverage heterogeneous computation, and must be embodied/embedded into a physical system. It is our belief that there are research questions that will require massive software (re-)engineering effort in the current C++/Python paradigm, that might benefit from Julia’s generic programming capabilities.

If you’re interested in the position or have any questions, please reach out. Go here to apply.

Best,
