This doesn’t really make sense to me. You’re saying that one evaluation takes 480ms but two BFGS iterations takes 10 hours? If you only have 6300 parameters, this makes no sense, even with finite differences. That’s enough for 18000 evaluations unless there’s something I don’t understand?
