I thought that 1.10 being LTS, minor updates to 1.11 would have stopped at 1.12.0 release. But it does not look like it is the case.. is there somewhere a document that explains this ?
For example, I see announcements here for 1.11.8 after the ones for 1.12.2
1.11.8 is just a special case to get some last bug fixes out for some folks while they work on migrating to 1.12.
The general pattern still stands: we usually stop making 1.x releases once 1.(x+1) comes out. This is really just a one-off special case.
