As of today I haven’t been able to precompile any package that requires FFMPEG.jl, getting this error:

FFMPEG is installed and pointed to in the PATH variable. Any clues?

(Btw I noticed that the path \bin/avcodec-58.dll" is written wrong for Windows. In case that’s the problem, where could I find the file that may be hardcoding the " / "?)

In my case, apparently, all packages are working OK in Atom. However, the Julia kernel in the Jupyter environment is not working properly. Despite having and (seeing) the kernel for Julia 1.5.2 installed, I get a funny message:

In the end, I can have work done with Julia in Jupyter; the problem is that LaTeX markdown loses its formatting and the kernel works extremely slow.

I updated the registry, and definitely, the .dll file is not found:

There is a newline break in your call, you should do

but anyway this function will not solve any issue, it’s only a debugging tool.

Are you sure you have update the registry? However your issue appears totally unrelated to the one discussed above in this thread, I’d recommend you opening a new topic.

Can this problem be, somehow, related to Windows 10? I installed yesterday Julia 1.5.2 in a NEW computer (Windows 10), and I got this problem. Funny, three of my students also installed last week Julia 1.5.2 on Windows 10 machines … and no problem. In their case, everything works perfectly well

I see a lot of SYSTEM32 in that box, but my system is a Windows 10, 64-bits. Do not know if this is relevant or not.

Hi, I also got the exact same error on a new install (Windows 10, Julia 1.5.2). Turned out my system was a Windows N version (without video codecs installed by default).
Installing the media feature pack solved the issue.
It might be helpful to put a warning in the Readme if this can be reproduced.
