JuliaCon keynote IV

JuliaCon 2017 will feature the Celeste project, probably the largest Julia application to date.

Celeste is a procedure for inferring astronomical catalogs that attains state-of-the-art scientific results. The implementation is written entirely in Julia and utilizes high-level constructs for shared and distributed memory parallelism. The project utilizes the Knights Landing based NERSC Cori Phase II supercomputer – the fifth most powerful machine in the world – making it one of the largest generative models ever developed.
