JuliaCon - bringing family/partners?

I would like to go to JuliaCon, but would combine this with a holiday in the US perhaps. I live in the UK.
Can anyone in Baltimore comment on what my partner would be able to do while I am at the conference?

I don’t know Baltimore well, but DC is a short train ride away and has tons of amazig museums and monuments, many of which are free.
