JuliaCon depends on the generosity of its sponsors. As a community organised non-profit conference, our sponsors allow us pay for the usual expenses of running a conference while keeping prices (particularly student prices) reasonably low. But more importantly it allow us to provide travel grants that encourage a diverse set of participants from five continents to visit JuliaCon. It also helps fund part of the community infrastructure for Julia development throughout the year.
