Honestly, the list looks a bit weird. “US Taxation” as a skill and it’s the top?

I clicked on the Julia Development link and most freelancers that came up do not look like Julia developers. BTW, quite a few hits had their first names as Julia :sweat_smile:

The UpWork press release isn’t terribly clear on their methodology, but it does seem like they are reporting increases in demand for Julia work, not in numbers of Julia freelancers. Probably.

Yes there is a lot of noise in their listings of freelancers. Searching for just “Julia” is maybe a little less noisy than “Julia developer”.

I think it’s probably a timing thing - taxes for companies and individuals in the US are largely a first quarter affair (Tax Day is April 15). It’s pretty common for companies to beef up tax people (ie accountants) in Jan-Apr.
