I wrote an article to describe what attracted me to Julia.
I am still very much a Julia beginner, having only written CoherentNoise.jl. I am loving every minute I get to write Julia. Thanks for reading!

Getting ahead of @logankilpatrick here, may I suggest you uploading this fantastic piece to Forem?
It may have wider reach there.
Signing up for the Forem is on my todo list for tomorrow actually. I only just discovered it today. I will do that though, and thanks for the kind words!
This was a very lovely piece that made me quite excited. Wrote an extended comment on your blog. Welcome to the community!
Everyone, some news on the topic.
In a following blog post two months later (https://mfiano.net/posts/2022-11-05-programming-languages-i-use/ unfortunately 404), mfiano admits the previous article “was unfair to both languages”, and while “[he] is still mostly using Julia”, “Common Lisp is still on the table for [him]“.
On LiberaChat, he says he’s back from Julia to Common Lisp: “As of yesterday, I’m back to making libraries in CL. I cannot consider Julia as a serious language anymore, for it has deceived me after 7 years of research.”
You would find more context on the chat.
best,
and btw, see also an answer to his post not-common-lisp-to-julia.org · GitHub
Hey @vindarel, welcome. It seems like you’re enthusiastic about lisps, and that’s great!
This is resurrecting a two year old post with some two year old news of third-hand internet drama peering into dead blogs and chat logs with a very different intended audience. That’s not a great way to restart this conversation.
If you’d like to start a new topic about your own experiences using Julia, please do so! And similarly for @mfiano — Julia isn’t always for everyone but it is helpful to hear where folks have stumbled.
