This is a call for abstracts to the AGU 2026 Fall Session on cross-disciplinary open-source software — bringing together developers and users from across the full AGU spectrum – from Earth’s deep interior to its surface, oceans, ecosystems, and beyond into space – to share tools, workflows, and hard-won lessons.
Whether you maintain a widely-used package or just have opinions on why open-source in science is (or isn’t) working, we want to hear from you. Think of this as a cross-pollination event — a chance to see what tools exist outside your own subfield, and to make sure yours gets seen outside of it too.
We’re looking for talks on:
- Reproducible science & FAIR data — software that enables reproducibility or supports FAIR principles
- AI/ML acceleration — tools that speed up scientific discovery
- Governance & sustainability — community governance, interoperability, and long-term maintenance of open-source projects
- Cross-disciplinary reuse — cases where a tool built for one discipline was adopted or repurposed for use outside its original field

Abstracts due: Midnight EST on Wednesday Aug 5
Please let us know if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Conveners : Regupathi Angappan, Ankit Barik, Miguel A. Jimenez-Urias.
