We launched a new GitHub organization on airborne wind energy to foster the collaboration of startups and academia.
Airborne wind energy is a promising approach for
- de-central wind energy harvesting
- offshore wind energy harvesting, in particular for floating offshore systems
- clean ship propulsion
Our mission: To develop a software stack for simulation, estimation and control of AWE systems to reduce the initial effort for AWE startups and new PhD researchers, and to provide reference models for stakeholders like the International Energy Agency.
We provide already:
- a wiki with an overview about the available open source simulation and control software
- we moved already four of our Julia packages to this organization, more will be moved in the future
Most packages are in Julia, so far one package was contributed in Python.
We also have a common Signal group and a biweekly online call.
