Yes apo383, I agree with what you said.
Below are some figures I made to compare the original published kernel (:a3 in my package) versus my best kernel (:b13) (wide support, not all shown). As you can see there is very little high frequency information in the FFT of the 13th degree kernel (:b13 in my package).
