And now for something completely different: multimedia

It struck me that is might be fun to write some julia programs (system?) for multimedia support. Has this already been done but I could not find any references/links to it?
I’m thinking of building libraries of movies, music, downloads, and such. Strip my CD’s, DVD’s, and Blu-Ray’s, transcode them, shrink them (lossless!), and be able to play them on the (networked) TV/audio systems at will. Kinda like maybe what PLEX or Jellyfish were supposed to be. :slight_smile:
Yeah, Julia is designed for scientific computing. I get that and I do that. However, with the power of this beast, I’d at least like to try using Julia for fun stuff, too! Is that heretical???
