Both Julia and gcc don’t manage to infer this from a sin written in pure Julia/C++ - while they do if you use the sin compiler intrinsic.

Maybe POC/WIP: leverage LLVM function attributes for better CSE by jrevels · Pull Request #29566 · JuliaLang/julia · GitHub fixes this.
