Personally, I very much like separate topics like (For what) is NASA using Julia? and Congrats for Julia 1.13! over having those responses hidden in the Announcements topic.
Those messages aren’t automated! And I think that’s also part of it; Alex and Kristoffer would get inundated with notifications as the original poster, too… asking them directly how to update.
