…sorry to revive it but… do you agree on something being wrong with GitHub? (wink)
hah, I’m personally fine with github and use it for all my projects because it’s convenient, but I also doubt I could adequately defend it from a thoughtful criticism (especially since I know some folks have stricter principles than me )
yeah! Thank you for the mirroring hint btw, appreciate it.
Github I understand (I am not happy about M$ throwing its weight around myself). But why Gitlab?
Codeberg looks great. It seems an unnecessary pain to make Julia packages work when hosted there. Should (could) this be made easier?
I think this was already answered above:
Yes, correct. But I meant EASY. As in Github easy.
But that’s exactly what is being said: it just lacks tooling support, so the tooling needs updates to handle that platform. What makes GitHub easy is precisely that the tooling supports it. To make codeberg easy, update the tooling to support it.
Sorry, I think I missed the important part: I believe you are saying that Codeberg needs to put in place tooling to facilitate integration of Julia packages into the registry?
No? This is about GitForge.jl and Registrator.jl.
Oh, wow. There is so much machinery which had been essentially invisible to me up till now. Thanks to all the volunteers who maintain this!
