I recommend writing a macro, though it is unlikely you will be able to get the . in r1.2 to work well. See julia> t = :(@modify r1.2) :(#= REPL[4]:1 =# @modify r1 0.2) It gets parsed as r1 and a number. You can use REPLMaker.jl to make a custom REPL. Once you write a macro that should be easy to …
